LAPT is an exam publisher on the Pearson VUE testing network. A candidate books a seat, walks into a supervised test centre anywhere in the world, sits the same paper under the same conditions as everyone else — and LAPT issues the certificate on the result.
LAPT does not teach and does not mark its own candidates. The exam is published on a third-party network, delivered by Pearson VUE staff, and scored independently. That separation is the whole value of the certificate.
LAPT is the exam owner and publisher on the Pearson VUE network. The question bank, the pass mark and the certificate are LAPT's; the delivery is Pearson VUE's.
Every seat is supervised. Identity is verified at the desk, the room is monitored, and the same security rules apply in every country.
Over 5,000 test centres in more than 180 countries. A candidate trained at a LAPT centre in one country can sit the exam in another.
Computer-based, multiple choice, identical paper and identical conditions — which is what lets an employer compare two candidates from two continents.
The candidate completes the course at one of 500+ accredited partner centres. LAPT accredits the centre; it does not deliver the training.
The candidate registers on the LAPT programme page at Pearson VUE and finds the nearest authorised test centre.
Appointments can be booked in advance or, subject to availability, on the day. The exam is taken on-screen under supervision.
On a pass, LAPT awards the certificate and the record becomes verifiable online. Combined exams build to advanced certificates and diplomas.
In April 2018 LAPT put its hospitality qualifications live across the Pearson VUE network — the point at which a LAPT exam stopped being something you sat where you trained, and became something you could sit in 180 countries.
“Our new agreement with Pearson VUE means a major upgrade for our candidates
in terms of convenience.”
Barry Richardson — Director of Assessment, LAPT
The Dubai Real Estate Institute is the training and certification arm of the Dubai Land Department, Government of Dubai. In 2019 DREI authorised LAPT Ltd to publish its real-estate licensing exams worldwide on the Pearson VUE testing network. The project did not go ahead: everything was in place and COVID stopped it in 2020, so the DREI exams never went live. The authorisation stands as it was issued, and is shown here for what it is.

Through the Dubai Real Estate Institute, the Land Department authorised LAPT Ltd in July 2019 to publish five DREI real-estate exams worldwide on Pearson VUE. COVID stopped the project in 2020 and those exams never went live.
