NEP 2020 is the national education policy — it is not itself a subject or a classroom programme. CBSE turns that policy into an actual school curriculum through its own named stages. Here is exactly how the two connect.

Skill education CBSE has made mandatory for every school, Classes VI–VIII, from the 2026–27 session.
